My experience as an engineer include the following engine types: Detroit- 8149 D.D.E.C, 12149,1692,1271,671,471 Cummins- K.T.A 38, K-19 Caterpillar- 3208,3408 E.M.D- 16&12 cylinders Mercedes& Yanmar. Proficient with Hamilton water jets and their components. Have had wheeltime on the helm of boats ranging from 75 to 240 ft and am excellent with quick mooring and line handling.I served in the navy for 3 yrs and was honorably discharged under medical due to a slight case of asthma.At my discharge date i was an E-5 EOD but started out as an SH which is how i contracted my love for anything of a nautical nature and my drive to learn all i possibly can about sailing and all other sea going vessels. At the present time i am living in Tennessee doing vinyl siding work and awaiting the chance to exercise my knowledge of boats again. I am not currently doing what i love because i have had a recent addition to my family and wanted to be here for the birth and have time with my new daughter and wife before stepping on a boat again. My wife stands behind me all the way in this love of mine and says i should start looking to continue the work i enjoy so much, so here i am. Thank you all for reading my rants and raves and look forward to hearing from anyone willing to give me a chance to show my skills and enable me to enjoy boating again, and if not could anyone direct me to where i might be able to find a spot on a boat. Its not just a job for me, boats and the work i do on them are my life and it shows in my work. I fogot to mention that i hold a 4,ooo hpr designated duty engineer document and getting to any location from tennessee is not a problem for me at all. |
