| Description: | I am a thirty year active duty Coast Guard veteran looking to accomplish my immediate goal of obtaining a 100GT Captain’s License through the most challenging and educational experience possible. Previous experience includes afloat military service in the Pacific (CA, OR and HI), the Caribbean, Gulf of Mexico and Arabian Sea; in addition to over four years of off-shore sailing and cruising experience as a Coast Guard Academy Safety Officer between Larchmont, NY and Martha’s Vineyard, MA. Formal training includes CG helmsman, lookout, shipboard firefighting, damage control, CPR, combat first aid, boatswain’s mate of the watch qualification and completion of the 80-hour 100GT Captain’s testing and certification process through Confident Captain, Newport, RI. My intentions are to build upon previous experience and ultimately be prepared to pursue a career in the marine industries. |
