| Description: | I began sailing as a youth and has significant deep-water sailing experience. I most recently skippered the yacht S/Y Spirit of Australia, a Dubois 68’ in the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race 09-10. This race, taking ten months to complete, was a 35,000nm circumnavigation race with amateur crew from all walks of life. There were 10 identical yachts competing in the race and my crew and I on Spirit of Australia came 1st, winning the race overall. I am the first Australian to win a Round the World Race. I have an excellent working knowledge of ocean navigation, weather routing, racing tactics and above all, keeping his yacht and crew safe. I am also a very experienced people manager and deal discretely and professionally with all crew issues. |
