RCI (sales) Holiday sales experience, developed good sales technique. 2004-2006 Employed by Trinity House (Organization whom maintain navigation lights and equipment throughout the UK) for the duration of my cadetship, where I served on a variety of different ships in differing trading areas getting a full experience of Navigation and deck duties. Vigilant) 2002-2003 Kilmacsimon Boatyard (general boat repairs, maintenance and yard work, hoist driver) 1998- Present I have spent the last 12 years in one capacity or another working on vessels of all sizes, from 3 meter skiffs up to 200 meter Cruise and cargo ships, angling vsls, sail training, charter, race crew, boat yards,deliveries etc. Skills Sailing Skilled, confident, intuitive sailor, safe, seamanlike and fast. Excellent close quarters boat handling ability, have personally handled vessels from 3m up to 200m Ro-Ro vsl and Cruise ship during my cadetship, and over 30,000 ocean miles in the last 2 years on my own yacht. Engineering skills Although I have no official qualification I have been working on Diesel Inboards and petrol outboards for many years, even over hauling Diesels in the past. Extensive knowledge of all technical yacht systems – propulsion and control; generators; watermakers; winches, deck gear and sail handling systems (manual and hydraulic); navigation systems, radar and chart plotters; IT, communication and entertainment systems; domestic services, plumbing, AC and DC electrics; Various fairing, finishing, varnish and antifouling systems. Hobbies/Interests Sailing; I am part owner of a Sun Oddesy 49, which I have been recently undertaking a circumnavigation in, having departed in august 2008 and having recently reached New Caledonia(pacific). During the voyage I have skippered and have been responsible for the constant maintenance of the vessel and all her systems. The vessel has been refitted by myself for the purpose of the voyage.
