| Description: | BOY SCOUT SAILING VESSEL IN NEED OF CAPTAINS <br /> <br /> <br />A Boy Scout sailing program is currently looking for Captains for the 2007 sailing season. The 47 foot ketch Prevailing Winds II operates from the Rogers City Marina throughout the summer months for week long cruises to the North Channel and northern Lake Huron. Captains will be sailing the vessel with co-ed Scout charter groups on a Sunday to Saturday basis. <br />. <br />This highly successful Sailing Program is owned, operated and managed by the Tall Pine Council, Boy Scouts of America, headquartered in Flint, Michigan. The vessel is chartered to Scout groups from throughout the nation for cruises, utilizing Rogers City as home port. The vessel sails with a maximum of 15 to 18 participants, which includes a First Mate, who staffs the vessel for the entire sailing season, and 3 Adult Leaders. <br /> <br />Destinations are North Channel, Canada and parts throughout Northern Michigan for the week long cruises. The Prevailing Winds II is also chartered for weekend cruises during the fall months. Over the last 35 years, the Prevailing Winds II has successfully provided sail training and offshore sailing experiences to over 10,000 youths and adults. <br /> <br />Captains are. required to have a 50 Ton Masters License (or greater) with a Sailing Endorsement.
