| Description: | Oceanus is a non-profit organization (onlus is the Italian acronym meaning non-profit-making), whose activity is mainly focused on promoting and developing several research projects aiming at the preservation of the aquatic ecosystems and environments, as well as the protection of the aquatic species under increasing threat, and the necessary interaction with human activities. <br /> <br />Our activity is mainly focused on promoting and developing several research projects aiming at the preservation of the aquatic ecosystems and environments, as well as the protection of the aquatic species under increasing threat. At the same time we look at the different interactions between the "humans" and the "animals". <br /> <br />With several international cooperations our horizons are widened and our research is enriched by the enthusiasm and multicultural spirit of our crew <br /> <br />With the expeditions aboard our catamarans we want to better understand not only the spreading of marine mammals, but also their genetic relationships and migration patterns. <br /> <br />The final results of our research will provide a wide scientific background that in the long term will be used to create and develop new protocols for the preservation and protection of marine mammals. <br /> <br /> |
