| Your Position: | Yacht Crew |
| Current Location: | Mallorca, Spain |
| Description: | I have recently graduated from the University of Manchester (LL.B hons LAW 2:1) and I’ve moved to Mallorca to join my family. My father is a maritime surveyor and consultant and as a result I’ve been brought up around ships and yachts which has inspired me to enter the industry. I have some hospitality and sailing experience, I can speak reasonably good Spanish, I’m enthusiastic, organised, reliable and easy to get along with. Skills and Experience: Hospitality: Pat-a-Cake Bakery, Isle of Man (1999-2003) I worked as a part-time shop and bakery assistant for 4 years to earn some extra money whilst at school. My duties included serving customers, taking orders and cleaning both the shop and kitchen. Archibald Knox Pub, Isle of Man (2003) I worked as a part-time bar maid and waitress at a local pub to save some money before going to university. Sailing: I won a scholarship to sail for a week with the Ocean Youth Trust in the UK, this was a great introduction to life at sea and has definitely encouraged me to find out more. I have also spent several years acting as crew for a 505 racing dinghy in the Isle of Man. Other: Voluntary English Teacher, i-to-i Guatemala (Summer 2004) I taught English as a volunteer teacher in a local primary school in Guatemala, this was a challenging yet thoroughly rewarding and enjoyable experience that gave me a real insight into another culture and allowed to develop my Spanish language skills. Whilst at school, I was an enthusiastic member of the Air Training Corps where I achieved the rank of Sergeant and developed excellent team-work and leadership skills. During my time at University I was actively involved with the Pro-Bono Society in Chinese Community of Manchester and the Legal Advice Centre, a voluntary scheme whereby students work under the supervision of leading solicitors and barristers to advise clients on legal matters. These opportunities allowed me to develop and expand upon my organisational and interpersonal skills alongside my legal knowledge. I was a student mentor to a group of first year students and I have been involved in various student events. I enjoy keeping fit by swimming, running and attending the gym. I love to travel, socialise and meet new people. I am a PADI certified diver, I am first aid qualified and I have a clean driving licence. |
