| Description: | We are looking for a minimum Class 3 engineer to maintain and move as required a privately owned vessel. Period: Annual full time job Start Date: 1st of July 2009 Accommodation: Live on board the vessel in the private chief engineer cabin. Attributes: Must be clean, well organized, be able to work well unattended and with other crewmembers, honest and reliable. Qualification: Class 3 engineer or better Ref: 5 years verifiable Duties required: To maintain and service all the engine room equipment. Current Crew: Skipper, 3 deck hands (one deck hand to serve as a second engineer), and a cook/cleaner. Name of Ship: Atlas 1 Registration: Australian Registered Ship # 857133 Survey current/ class: Lloyds Ice Class certification Length overall: 120’ 40” (36.7M) Beam: 29’ 52” (9.0M) Draft: 10’ 49” (3.2M) Launched: 1960 Type: Long range expedition style motor yacht Builder: Reposaaren Konepaja Finland Construction: Steel Tankage: Fuel: approx 80,000 ltrs Water: approx 18,000 ltrs Main engines: Caterpillar 3508B – V8 air start diesel, derated to deliver 800HP at 1200rpm Installed in mid 2005. Repowering included new ZF gearbox, new 6’ diameter prop haft and seals and new five bladed propeller. Atlas 1 is currently located in Australia till the beginning of July. It will then be making its way up the Queensland cost to PNG where it will spend the next 12 to 16 months. After exploring the waters of PNG the boat will then begin to travel around the world.
