| Description: | I need a change of course, and am therefore looking for a challenging job in the sailing/yachting business. I’m ready to work anywhere in the world, preferably as an employee of a sailing school, charter or boat transportation business, charter base, or travel agency; or on sea. I’ll be available from October, 2006 on. I’m 28, female, neither married nor bound by any other kind of relationship. I am currently working as an editor and project manager for a renowned German publishing company. Education includes university degree (in 2003). Professional experience apart from what I needed to gain my current position: Tour guide (Australia, New Zealand, Greece, France, Germany, Turkey); sales, then key account management and event management for a large bookstore. Languages: English, German, French, Italian. Excellent reading skills in Danish, Spanish and all related Scandinavian and Romance languages. I can improvise, negotiate, organize and coordinate, all of which being part of my current job. I don’t start back from confrontation (as long as it’s unavoidable, that is) and am an excellent crew or team worker. Computer skills: common operating systems (Windows, MacOS, Linux) and administration programs (SAP, OPAS), all office applications, www. And, most important, sailing experience: I’ve been sailing since I was 2, on different kinds of vessels (up to 60ft), on almost every ocean (Pacific, Indian, Atlantic, North Sea, Baltic Sea, Mediterranean Seas). I have sea legs, I’m athletic, tough, and even if hell breaks loose, I won’t mind standing watches or running to the forecastle. Better-than-average technical knowledge, basic cooking skills (eat or die), and lots of experience as a crew member (mostly boat transportation). |
