| Description: | Dear Crew Member, Infinity is a 120 ft fully equipped Ketch(diving incl.)and has been sailing the Pacific for the past 5 years. Our international crew of about 16 persons is working with islanders across the Pacific on adapting to climate change. Infinity has departed Hawaii in February 2010 and will visit respectively: Marquesas March, French Polynesia May, Tahiti June, Cooks July, Tonga August – October 2010, after that: Samoa, Kiribas, Wallis Futuna, Fiji, Vanuatu, Solomon’s through 2011 and after to be decided… We are looking enthusiastic crew members to join the voyage. “INFINITY” built in 1977 is a 36 meter, 150 ton Ketch (total capacity 21 persons) Large communal spaces include a cosy library, a spacious and airy saloon, a workshop area & cinema, an open galley and more. The spirit of the voyage: We put a strong emphasis on the community life and group interaction aboard. It’s all about having a fun and life enriching learning experience together. Important to us are: good vibes, good humor and a high degree of self-motivation, we value industrious personalities. Crew members should have pro-active personality with good social and communication skills and a good sensitivity to others. We will spend time together doing exercise and creative performances such as theater, singing, music, dance, games and much more. What we expect of the crew aboard: Everyone shall participate in maintenance work and typical sailors duties incl. cooking, regular cleaning, watch keeping, running systems and machinery and so forth. The sailing, maintenance and communal life and our climate change activities together require a high level of energy input and round the clock involvement. Shared cost basis depending on duration of commitment: 4 months and more: 700 Euros / month A security deposit will be required. After a minimum of 6 months, a free or reduced participation may be considered for crew members taking on a high level of responsibilities and involvement. Infinity’s background and our plan: Infinity has extensively sailed the South Pacific Ocean for the past 5 years with an alterating crew of 10 – 16 people from all over the world. From 2004 – 2006 she sailed from Mexico to Thailand with stops in the Line Islands, Samoa, Tonga, Fiji, Vanuatu, Solomons, PNG, Philippines, and Malaysia. From 2006 – 2008 Infinity sailed on a Planetary Coral Reef Foundation expedition (www.pcrf.org) from Thailand to Fiji and back via Singapore, Indonesia, PNG, Solomons and Vanuatu. After some charter work in the Andaman Sea we sailed from Thailand to Hawaii via Palau and Micronesia. We try to make positive contributions to people and places visited.
