| Description: | Mate – 2nd Engineer Sorcerer II, a 95’ T.P. Cookson is looking for a Mate. The Mate will be second in command to the Captain and is responsible for all aspects of the safe operation, navigation, and maintenance of the vessel. The mate must be a team player who can help supervise the other crew and assign daily tasks. The Mate will conduct routine maintenance and projects, be the watch leader when the boat is underway by conducting navigation, engine room checks and radar watch, perform upkeep of deck, complete routine deck store inventories and ensure there is an adequate supply of stores and materials. | Qualifications: | Successful candidates will have blue water sailing experience, STCW 95 certification, knowledge of vessel security, safety procedures and basic systems. Professional crewing experience preferred. Candidates must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. frequently, frequently lift and/or more up to 50 lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs. Candidates must have the ability to live in close quarters and sharing responsibilities while traveling. |
