| Description: | Boat size & type: 35 Foot Catamaran Embark port: Sebana Cove, Malaysia (1 hour ferry ride from Singapore) Estimated departure (or join) date: 1st October, 2008 Arrival port & ETA (or voyage details): 14 November, 2008 Number of other crew aboard (Skipperplus): 2 Crew Required Crew qualifications required and duties: Previous sailing experience preferred. There are not to may choices for returning home from the middle of Indonesia if you discover that sailing is not to your tastes. Couples OK Cost to join vessel and repatriation is paid by: Crew Member. Estimated equal-share contribution to food/drinks: = $US. 5-10 Note: No contribution towards any other costs (fuel, propane, fees, marinas, etc.) is required from crew. I would hope to have crew members on board late September. We will head below Borneo and through Indonesia, checking into Australia at Thursday Island (Cape York) and then heading down to Cairns, Brisbane and finally Sydney. We will be sailing directly to Thursday Island with only the briefest rest stops in Indonesia to stay ahead of the Australian cyclone season. Once we get south of Townsville we will slow the pace a bit and will mostly be doing short hops. We have two queen size beds but will be "hot bunking" whilst on passage. Smokers OK but no drinking whilst on passage for safety's sake. All gear including PFDs etc are on board so all you need is your clothes, etc. Final provisoning run will be done together before we leave. I can be contacted at mike at kesterton dot net.
